A History Of Quality

Forest River was founded in 1996 by Peter Liegl, but took little to no time to become a staple of the industry. Liegl had previous experience in the RV game through employment at Cobra Industries, and when it fell apart in the early 90’s he bought some of their assets and began his own venture in Elkhart, Indiana. Since then, Elkhart has become a hub of RV manufacturing and construction. With a core mission of high-quality RVs and incredible customer care, Forest River soon began acquiring other RV brands and expanded into multiple other markets. For years, Forest River acquired more and more specialty vehicle companies from bus manufacturers to cargo trailers to commercial trucks—and, of course, RVs.

In turn, Forest River was acquired in 2005 by the legendary Berkshire Hathaway. This ensured that Forest River had the resources and finances of a massive corporation, but they remained true to their goals: incredible products and incredible service to their customers.
